Well friends, I trust that you all have had an abundance of momma/grandma's heavenly cooking by now. I know I sure did; Karen Davidson sure can cook a good thanksgiving meal! There is not much better than eating an unhealthy portion of thanksgiving feast and then crawling on to the couch and falling into a tryptophan induced coma. I know for a fact that it is something special. I just woke up from one 5 minutes ago. Not even a coldplay show on tv could wake me up.
Today has not disappointed at all. Woke up, ate some homemade bread, watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, chilled with pops watching tv, then the heavenly meal I spoke about earlier, then came the first 7 minutes and 37 seconds of the football game then I was out like a light. The tryptophan just owned my body at that point. Of course I did not fight this what so ever.
Plans for tonight are pretty simple, The Blindside with the family, then LEFTOVERS!!!! Such a great day.
In regards to the title of this post: My dad is sick and at the doctor right now, yes on Thanksgiving. :( And well, I think I may have been bit buy the same stupid sick bug he got eaten up by. But the tryptophan nap did help a little bit... Any who, I am taking measures to fight sickness. No one wants to be sick at home and then have to drive back to school without yo momma taking care of you. Do not deny it you tough guys, moms make everything better.
The question that has been ringing creepily in my head all day? What are you thankful for MATT??
Well, in no particular order, I am thankful for my education right about now, not thankful for how much it costs. I am thankful for my friends, I can not describe to you how much I cherish my friends. Friends, you help my world go round. My family, woah I love them. I've missed my family more than anything the past few months, so it is such a sweet thing to be around them for a few days. I am thankful for Itunes. I am thankful for anything Justin Vernon has ever done musically. I am thankful that he too is struggling with thinning of the hair as well. I am simply thankful for music. Thats a good amount of thankfulness. I may make another list in a couple weeks or something.
So have I told yall about tryptophan?
Only kidding.
Watch this video. It may or may not be funnier the second time you watch it.

Three cheers for turkey and everything else associated with thanksgiving feast!
Tryptophan Rocks!!

Back off Im going home.
Well geez it feels good to be home. I have been waiting so long to come home for break and I am finally here... Sitting on the couch, sister sitting on the floor below me justa going to town on her computer, mom watching dancing with stars, and pops behind me on the computer. And that's the way I like it, just kickin it with the family.
By the way Whitney Houston still has it. NOT. - she's on dancing with the stars singing-
On my trek back to Lilburn I encountered an impatient driver. So impatient that he felt the need to ride about a foot away from the back of my car. I will have you know it could not have been because of slow driving. The speed limit was 70 and I was pushing 85. I'll admit I was a little aggravated, and as most guys do they just stay in that lane and if they "tailgater" tries to speed up and pass us we just push that gas a little harder. Yeah, so I did that. THEN, (this is the best part) I thought, wait I am going a little too fast, maybe I should just make this dudes day and get over. So I did, and about 2 or 3 miles down the road I see the exact same dude getting frisked outside his car by a cop! Thats right, back off my tail son!
If that doesn't make you feel good on an eager drive home to your mother I dont know what will.
Before I leave you all I must share a little bit about my night last night. I attended the J. Tillman show with some quality ladies: Ann Monsor, Kelsey Boone, and Kristen Blanton. I do not think it gets better than this people. haha
I really did not know what to expect going to this show. All I knew was that he plays with Fleet Foxes, so I know he will be pretty dang good. The dudes got talent. From random, on his knees playing of his gong to the spazzing tambourine thrashing. So very entertaining. My recommendation of his music would have to be When I Light Your Darkened Door.
No worries folks I'll put a couple links if you're really are serious about hearing J.

Hit/ Home Coming
It was a hit.
The suit weathered the storm of a Chi O formal. Through the rain, the tuscan cuisine, and of course the fast moving hips of me. Take that comment as you may.
So the suit worked, and I was glad.
On to a more familiar subject, HOME.
I am going home in about two days and I do not think I have been more ready. I don't think I have come down with homesick epidemic, but maybe a cousin of it. Between school, concerts, meetings, friends, and of course real vintage suits I have missed being irresponsible at home. I mean really. When I was in high school all I had to worry about was school and well I guess thats about it. And I thought that was tough. College is no joke people. I've got some envy inside me towards all you high schoolers. Needless to say I want to be home for a couple days, doing not much at all, and clean clothes from our 25 year old washer and dryer that can clean clothes with the best of them. And may we not forget why I am going home. Thanksgiving. Which means a home cooked meal from Karen Davidson. Which also means the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And which also means Christmas music can now begin its reign in the Davidson household and everywhere the Davidson family may venture off to in my dad's car.
Enough for now.

An aged suit. Hit or Miss.
Why not wear a 30 year old suit that your pops used to rock back in the day? I do not think you can get more vintage than that...

Numero Uno; First Timer
First off, can I say that facebook probably consumes about 5 hours of my day. I don't think that is so good.
I'm jumping on the blog band wagon and I don't care who knows!!
Yesterday I got a little letter in the mail reveling that I had gotten SAC ( Student Activities Council for all you non-samforders). I could not be more excited about this opportunity. Im in love with music or anything that remotely has to do with some tunes so I figured this little council of event genius' would be a good fit for me. Of course I had to call the parents and let them know the news that their son is slowly but surely getting involved in the Samford world of committees and councils. They were thrilled. Words from my mother, "Oh maaaatt,(in a somewhat country accent) I just knew you were going to get that letter today in the mail. I prayed about it before I went to work!" I've got a great mother...
Thats about all for now I suppose.
Thanksgiving is coming upon us swiftly. Yes please.
